Robert S. “Smitty” Smith. Age 95. Frankfort resident, formerly of Dolton and  Chicago’s Roseland Neighborhood. Graduate of DeLaSalle High School Class of 1943. United States Navy World War II Veteran serving on the U.S.S. Adams. Robert worked at Pullman Standard before becoming a Bricklayer working for Blommaert Construction, Ruby Construction, Carlson-Reid and retiring as proprietor of R.S. General Contractor. Member of the Bricklayer Union Local #21 and The Dolton Elks Club and The Knights of Columbus. Husband for 72 years of Dolores nee Olszewski. Father of Marilee Smith, Robert (Heather) Smith, Douglas (Kathleen) Smith, Cynthia (Timothy) Mazzoni, Kimberly (Kevin) Watson, Glenn (Leora) Smith, Pamela (Sean) Holmes, Michael (Diane) Smith, the late Debra (Bruce) Prokop and Mark Smith. Grandfather of 21. Great grandfather of 7. Son of the late Leona nee Blais and George Smith. Brother of the late June Smith. Uncle and friend of many. Services were private.
