Sandra Jean Pirani nee Polter - 81

Sandra Jean Pirani nee Polter. Age 81. Lifelong Steger and Chicago Heights resident.

Sandy was best known as a social butterfly who never sat still. Her circle of friends brought her so much joy and happiness next to the love for her adored pet Stella. She took such pride in keeping her home immaculate. Nothing was out of place in Sandy's life. 

Sandy was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois on November 24, 1942, to Helen and George Polter who adored their only child. Sandy spoke so fondly of the amazing childhood she had. She was the apple of her daddy's eye. She attended Bloom High School before meeting the love of her life the late Dennis Pirani. She went on to be a clerical worker in a local dentist office. 

Sandy and Dennis were married for 51 years. They were proud parents to several furry "children." They both took extreme joy in their "rearing." They had several pictures and stories just like any other parent and would beam with pride when sharing either. Sandy even gave them a voice which was downright adorable. 

Sandy was involved in several friend groups over the years, bunco, birthday club, the Red Hat Society, just to name a few. She knew each one of her friends' stories like the back of her hand. She loved to share them whether you wanted her to or not. And when she would say, "Let me tell you..." you knew a story that was near and dear to her heart was about to begin. Her joy of storytelling and her laugh will be missed by all that knew her along with that smirk that would melt your heart. Sandy was everyone's best friend and always had an ear to lend along with a helping hand. She was a kindred spirit, and this world is a lesser place without her. 

Sandy went home on, September 30, 2024. Sandy was the sister-in-law to Richard (Eveline) Pirani, aunt to Paula (Robert) McCarter, Renee (Jimmy Joe) Warren, Duane (Christine) Pirani, Adam (Serena) Pirani and the late Richard Pirani, Jr. She also leaves behind several great nieces, nephews & great great nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life will be held at Panozzo Bros 530 W 14th St, Chicago Heights on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 12:00 pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 pm. Burial private.
