Retired Machinist (IAM) after 50 years of service from City of Chicago Streets and Sanitation and Cook County Highway Department. Bud was a handyman and enjoyed woodworking and doing general electrical, and gas repairs. Cub Scout Leader for St Catherine. Husband for 76 years of LaVerne nee Pertile. Father of Douglas (Maryann) Groset, Laurel (Michael) Callis and John (Mary) Groset. Grandfather of Phillip (Kathleen) Ernst, Lisa (Jeff) Calusinski, Peter (Jaime) Groset, Erik (Tiffany) Groset, Kristine (Adrian) Duehl, April (Aaron) Shoemaker, Kristine (Alex) Renn, and Tommy (Karalyn) Willard, Catie (Michael) Bowers and Grant Groset. Great Grandfather of Philip and Amelia Ernst, Shane Jones, Lucas and Olivia Calusinski, Joey, Leo and Belle Duehl, Lucas and Landon Shoemaker, Walker Renn, Eloise and Thomas Willard, Ryleigh and Anthony Bowers. Son of the late Inga nee Hustoft and John Pedersen Groset. Brother of the late Agnes (late Dolph) Becker. Brother-in-law of the late June (late Frank) Collins and Beverly Abbott. Uncle and friend of many. Visitation Wednesday January 15, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Anderson Memorial Home, 21131 W. Renwick Rd., Plainfield, IL 60544. Funeral Thursday January 16, 2025, 9:45 am from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary the Immaculate Parish, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield, IL for a 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial.
