United States Marine Corps Vietnam War Veteran where he served as a Helicopter Mechanic and Gunner on the chopper “CHAWT”. Retired from Leavitt Tube after 42 years of service as a Mill Operator. Lifetime member of the American Legion. Member for over 25 years of the Joliet Archery Club. Hubert enjoyed fishing, bow hunting, playing volleyball and dancing. A die-hard Cubs fan. Husband for 59 years of Sandy nee Westfall. Father of Angie (Bob) Philips and Bob Vickers. “Papa” of Zachary Philips and Heidi Vickers. Father-in-law of Linda Vickers. Son of the late Averil nee Buster and Oscar Vickers Sr. Brother of the late Emmaline (late Troy) King and Oscar “Buddy” (late Garnet) Vickers Jr. Brother-in-law of Joyce (Delmas) Bennett and Darrell (Patsy) Westfall.
